Users will be able to access these features within the Mobvoi app installed on a connected smartphone. The subscription will cost $4.99 a month and provide users with things like upgraded sleep tracking and analysis, more than 50 sleep aid songs to help you drift off, and AI insights like reminders about your sleep cycle and recommendations for each of your sleep stages. Additionally you get an overview of your sleep patterns for each week, and on a monthly basis. The goal here seems to be a new revenue stream for Mobvoi by adding useful insights beyond what’s already there. Although users would understandably feel a bit slighted given the company has never charged a subscription fee before. There is a way to save money on it though.

Mobvoi will offer early bird pricing on its new VIP Service subscription

Mobvoi says if you sign up for the service now, or sometime by December 31 of this year, then your monthly price drops to $2.99. Otherwise it goes to the normal price of $4.99 for anyone who signs up after December 31. Mobvoi is even offering users a free 6-month trial of the VIP Service if they purchase the TicWatch GTH 2. This trial is also available to existing users of that particular watch model. Mobvoi may also offer this deal to purchasers of upcoming smartwatch models that it releases. However, it hasn’t confirmed at this time whether or not that would be the case. While the company adding a subscription for new features seems like it may be out of place, it’s not uncommon these days. Fitbit is perhaps the most prolific with its Fitbit Premium subscription. Though, other wearables companies charge one for certain advanced features as well.
