The upcoming clamshell foldable has appeared on the FCC database with model numbers SM-F721U and SM-F721U1. These are carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the same device. First spotted by MySmartPrice, the certification itself doesn’t tell us much about the device. But a thorough reading of the documents reveals some details, such as wireless charging support, mmWave 5G, sub-6GHz 5G, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Schematics of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 found in FCC documents also show us the positioning of the mmWave antenna. both when folded and unfolded. You are probably aware that mmWave signals are easily blocked by obstacles such as building walls or metallic frames of a device. That’s why device manufacturers have to strategically place the antennas. While the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has two mmWave antennas, the Flip model gets only one. Note that the schematics, which you can find below, may not necessarily represent the true shape and size of the device. The FCC listing may not give away any notable info about the Galaxy Z Flip 4. But there’s no dearth of it thanks to a mountain of leaks over the past couple of months. The new clamshell foldable will bring plenty of upgrades over the 2021 model. From improved cameras and screens to bigger batteries, faster charging, newer internals, and a more durable build, the device has a lot going for it, at least according to leaks and rumors. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is less than a month away

If rumors are anything to go by, we are less than a month away from Samsung‘s fourth-gen foldables. We are hearing that the Korean firm will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on August 10. Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, the event should also see the Galaxy Watch 5 series and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro break cover. We wouldn’t be surprised if any or all of these devices appear in more extensive leaks ahead of that. Samsung has been terrible at keeping unannounced devices under the wraps until their official unveiling. We will keep you posted.
